About My Clients
I am a firm believer in that no matter what we go through in life, it doesn’t have to define us, but it does stick with us. Our past tends to show itself in various ways whether its at work, with friendships, in relationships, or when you have a child of your own. My passion is providing support to women who may be struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, parenting and/or relationship issues, self esteem, fertility issues, career issues, and many other areas.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed professional counselor with over 13 years of experience working within many areas of the mental health system. My passion for working with women more deeply evolved when I had a daughter of my own. I completed a Maternal Mental Health certificate program by 2020MOM in order to further my ability to support moms at all different stages of parenting. I am all about providing quality counseling services to my clients, and I do not use one set approach or theoretical orientation. No two people are the same, so my interventions and techniques reflect that. Through my education and experiences, I have an understanding of what may work best for any given symptom or diagnosis, but ultimately you are the expert in your life. I meet each individual where they are at in their life. I believe counseling is a joint process, and I am here to provide guidance, perspective, and I do not judge.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy is serious, but it should be an enjoyable experience. I want you to look forward to our appointments, and I think my style allows that. The new office has the most amazing feel to it, and the space is one that is warm and welcoming. I hope that talking to your therapist becomes as routine and normal as treating yourself to something special.
