About My Clients

Are you having trouble adjusting to the post-college life? Do you feel anxiety over all the decisions you have to make and the changes that come with them? That is a totally normal thing to feel when you are in your twenties. I am here with you to help you along the way with all of this change. We will work collaboratively on helping you pursue what makes you happiest and coping with all this change. I look forward to our work together!

My Background and Approach

My counseling work has primarily focused on college students and the post-graduating experience with concerns related to anxiety, depression, grief, divorce, and relationship concerns; however, I specialize in any client ages 18-30. My primary approach to counseling is an integration of multiple approaches. In essence, this integrative counseling approach strives to balance self-awareness, a genuine and empathic relationship with the client, and a collaborative effort at identifying what changes a client can make to minimize anxieties and depressive symptoms. My role is to collaborate in reaching whatever goals you may have for yourself by providing nonjudgmental support and helping to facilitate your journey, whatever form it may take. I strive to empower you and assist you in expanding healthy self-awareness that you will use a tool for control, success, and happiness.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I don't believe that there is a limit to human capacity. I think the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way; I think you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones by becoming self-aware of their impacts on you and your world around you. Progress is not necessarily linear, but it is still progress nonetheless and part of the change process. Everyone, no matter your background, is a person trying their best at navigating this thing called life. We are all trying to learn who we are and who we want to be- we just often times need help getting there.
