About My Clients
I deliberately maintain a solo, part-time private practice so I can prioritize the needs of each of my clients. I conduct individual psychotherapy with adults grappling with anxiety and/or depression, and work well with clients from a variety of backgrounds. I readily adapt to my clients' preferences, and work with both clients who prefer a more structured approach to therapy, as well as those who prefer a more unstructured style.
My Background and Approach
As a clinical psychologist, I have extensive training and experience in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and other sources of psychological distress. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including both inpatient and outpatient programs. I completed my predoctoral clinical internship at SUNY Upstate Medical University, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the VA Boston Health System as a Clinical Fellow in Psychology at Harvard Medical School. My clinical work is informed by best practices in counseling and psychotherapy. As an Assistant Professor of Psychology, I regularly research and publish on psychotherapy and counseling. I bring this knowledge and experience into the therapy space, where I craft tailored interventions for my clients based on the best available empirical research, my clinical experiences, and the preferences of my clients. I tend to use a relational style to help identify interpersonal patterns and supplement this approach with behavioral strategies.
