About My Clients
My clients are high-functioning LGBTQ+ adults carrying something quietly beneath a life that looks fine from the outside. Gay men navigating loneliness inside community. Trans and gender-diverse adults exhausted from a system and hesitant to seek care. CNM, polyamory, and kink-involved clients who are looking for someone who is equipped to support them. People navigating depression, trauma, grief, substance use, and problematic sexual behaviors — often for years, often alone. Ready to go deeper.
My Background and Approach
From the start of my career I built my training and practice deliberately around the LGBTQ+ community — not something I drifted into. I spent years at one of South Florida's longest-established LGBTQ+ behavioral health nonprofits and saw firsthand what affirming care makes possible. I am one of the first AFFIRM Pro consultants and AFFIRM Adult facilitators nationally. I present on gender-affirming care at national medical conferences and train other clinicians on affirming assessment practices. I provide gender-affirming letters available without gatekeeping and stay on the frontlines of best practices for our community. My approach is depth-oriented and psychodynamic — focused on what's underneath, not just what's on the surface. I draw from ACT, CBT, DBT, trauma-focused and humanistic frameworks based on what each person needs. I'm trained in Gottman Level I and Relational Life Therapy Level I for couples. I'm not here to tell you what to do. I'm here to help you go deeper.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm not a homework or worksheet therapist – I believe that good psychotherapy transcends the four walls of the therapy room. I'm not here to tell you what to do because that would be imposing my values and beliefs on you. My goal as your therapist is to help equip you with the insight and tools you need to get where you're trying to go. I believe that you are the expert in your life, and I'm here to help you process what you're going through so that you can have the clarity and support you need to live your best, authentic life. I'm transparent from the first session so you know exactly what to expect. I'm deeply engaged in the work I do and the community I serve. I take pride in being on the frontlines of best practices for LGBTQ and trans-competent care, especially in this anti-LGBTQ climate. It's important for me to present at conferences and train other clinicians to be more affirming because it truly takes a village to do the work for our community during these times.
