About My Clients
You know something needs to change in your life. You've tried to think and analyze your way out of your emotional upset and unhelpful behaviors, but you just can’t seem to shake your old patterns. Clients come to work with me looking for a focused and intentional space to understand what’s actually keeping them stuck, and a clear, collaborative process for doing something about it. They are motivated to change, open in therapy, and willing to practice new ways of being in the world.
My Background and Approach
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), working with concerns like anxiety, depression, OCD, insomnia and related patterns, as well as challenges in relationships, communication, and life stress. My training includes a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD from St. John’s University, along with clinical experience across several New York hospital settings, advanced training at the Westchester Center for Cognitive Therapy, and serving as a therapy supervisor at Ferkauf Graduate School. My approach is active, thoughtful, and collaborative. We look closely at how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect, and begin to shift patterns that keep you stuck. I integrate CBT with mindfulness, acceptance-based and self-compassion strategies, and emotion-focused perspectives. I always tailor the work to your goals and pace it in a way that feels manageable and meaningful.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy works best as a collaborative, respectful partnership where you remain in control of the pace and direction. My role is to validate your lived experience, to help you understand the patterns shaping your thoughts, emotions, and behavior, and to ask questions that bring clarity without judgment. I approach this work with warmth, care, and honesty. Change often requires some discomfort, but it should always feel thoughtful and manageable, never forced. I believe people are capable of meaningful change, and that with the right support, you can build a more grounded, flexible, and self-trusting way of moving through your life.
