I am a radically social justice oriented, trauma-informed, queer, fat/body, neurodiversity, disability, kink and poly affirming therapist.
Counselor in Portland, OR
As a queer immigrant of color, I am familiar with the challenges we experience and navigate as individuals and a community. I am keenly aware of the healing and collaboration we need to work towards within our community, and the activism for rights and freedoms still left to do outside of it. My practice emphasizes queer liberation, trans empowerment, as well as the celebration of diverse expressions of relationship formats.
I use tenets of Gestalt and Existential therapy in my work, as I believe that we all gravitate naturally towards self-determination and holistic congruence. Self-examination and self-awareness are key steps for this - supported in therapy. I use tenets of Gestalt therapy in association with existential therapy: such as immediacy, the therapeutic relationship, and individual responsibility.
I use the empirically evidenced skills and techniques of CBT in an integrative format in my work: rather than teaching my clients to use the homework or techniques to "fix" problems, I urge them to learn skills (from CBT) and mindfully integrate them to augment overall healing/progress. I use CBT thoughtfully and intentionally in my work.
My core specialization, I use tenets of ACT in my work as it holistically encapsulates the essence of true healing: learning skills while being holistically congruent with oneself.
I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, phobias or panic attacks. I also focus on working with individuals navigating post-trauma recovery and living with PTSD/ C-PTSD. I use tenets of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and other current trauma informed modalities to create an individually-tailored therapeutic approach for my clients.

Too often we are told we are not good enough and we need to change how we look, sound, move etc. Entire businesses run on making us feel less than. In such a cultural environment, being ourselves fully and unapologetically is the best revolution we can engage in. I work with clients using tenets of HAES and Intuitive Eating to create tailored programs of radical self love and body diversity.
I work with individuals in navigating the effects of present, historical and intergenerational trauma resulting from systems of oppression as well as individual/ family experiences. Focusing upon the macro experience of family systems, I support my clients in understanding the effects of trauma as they resonate through the self via society. My therapy practice centers on the tenets of advocacy and empowerment as roads to healing, understanding and growth as change agents.
