About My Clients
My clients have struggled with anxiety, sadness, frustration and depression due to an injury keeping them away from what they love. They're athletes who have felt anxiety and panic sneak into many parts of their lives impacting both performance and how they're getting along at home. They are wanting to bridge the gap between who the want to be and how they are currently showing up. They're dealing with stress from different corners of their lives and trying to balance it all.
My Background and Approach
I've worked in the mental health field for over twenty-five years in both private practice and for employee assistance programs. Prior to my training as therapist I worked for a program called Outward Bound where I spent years taking adolescents and adults on life changing experiences in the mountains and rivers. I'm a ultra-runner, marathoner and have an eternal love of the endurance, mountain sports and the outdoors. Along the way I wanted to refine the tools I use so I could be of better help to the athletes I work with so I earned a second graduate degree in applied sport psychology and close to a certification as a mental performance consultant (expected winter 2024).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all have a bit more inside than we think we do. That we're all capable to overcome adversity that has kept us down and away from who want to become. A lot of that has to do with how we approach thoughts and emotions that so easily can push us around. What happens if we open up with acceptance? What happens when we move towards what matters to us in spite of the discomfort?
