About My Clients
My clients are generally looking to explore their relationships to themselves and/or each other, learn more effective ways to communicate, and form more satisfying and connected lives. I have extensive experience working with folks all over the gender/sexuality spectrum and around kink, ethical non-monogamy/alternative relationship structures, and integrating psychedelic/spiritual experiences (without these having to be the focus of our work, i.e. no trans broken arm syndrome here).
My Background and Approach
Relationships can be healing. Part of my work is to foster a supportive connection with clients through open, honest, straightforward communication (and a bit of humor here and there). Our bodies can be a wealth of information about oneself. For some, this insight may be accessed through simply slowing down, breathing and making some space for whatever arises. I guide and support clients in various forms of somatic exploration when this resonates for them. Humans are seldom in full agreement with themselves. We feel things that elicit challenging reactions, both from ourselves and others. Through both Internal Family Systems therapy, and AEDP, I aim to help people accept and make sense of their shamed, hurt, or "unacceptable" parts/feelings. These modalities help access ones core self, that which is beyond the parts or voices we experience (and often try to suppress).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My own experience has taught me that change must happen at ones own pace. I focus on accepting people where they are and without judgment. I believe that everyone inherently has the power and drive to heal within themselves, sometimes you just need a little guidance and companionship in those dark places to get through the process.
