About My Clients
There is no "ideal client." People who come to therapy have experienced loss, relationship turmoil, abuse, job change, anxiety, racism, sexism, homophobia, insecurity and all that life hands us. Where you are, right now, is enough.
My Background and Approach
I'm an eclectic therapist, meaning I believe my clients know more about their life than I do. With that, I listen to your stories and utilize theories and models that best serve your healing process. Models and theories utilized are: Narrative, IFS (Internal Family Systems), Experiential, Intergenerational Family Systems. I always look through a trauma-informed lens and engage my queer, Afro-Latina identities. I believe that people are inherently good and are never problems. Our genetics, our contexts, and social environments impact how we see the world.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe all people are worthy and hold inherent value. I named my practice, Liberation Therapy because while knowledge is power, power must be given away in order to empower those who may not have the tools necessary for their freedom and liberation. I embrace the opportunity to journey alongside you as you discover and work towards the couple, family, or individual you aim to be.
