Are you seeking to better understand your child? Improve behavior at home and school? Support your child during a challenging period and help build healthier coping strategies? I may be able to help! Through our work, I seek to give youth and their families the tools necessary to achieve desired change. I have experience using evidence-based techniques tailored to the unique needs of each client.
My Background and Approach
Natsumi graduated with a Master of Science from Florida International University in Professional Counseling Psychology. She has extensive experience helping parents and children improve their lives through evidence-based therapies and a clinical approach that focuses on empathetic active listening. She often works with children and teens with emotional and behavioral concerns and connects with them in a way that promotes self-esteem and confidence. Her specialties include helping reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, improving self-esteem, and encouraging healthier communication. Natsumi also has experience delivering social skills training, leading youth to feel more confident in connecting with same-age peers and building better quality friendships. In addition to working with youth, Natsumi has also worked with parents: sharing evidence-based parenting practices that help parents best support their child’s progress and better understand the root of specific behaviors.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is capable of growth, provided both the will to do so and the correct environment. In therapy, we collaborate to make change happen! While personal challenges may bring you to therapy, you also bring your own keys to success. As your therapist, I help create the correct environment in sessions to help you explore, learn, practice, and flourish as an individual.
