About My Clients
Maybe you're carrying trauma, struggling with sexual behavior that feels out of control, or trying to make sense of a painful betrayal. Perhaps you're a teen or young adult navigating anxiety, relationships, perfectionism, or figuring out who you are. Or you're an athlete feeling overwhelmed by pressure and expectations. Whatever you're facing, you want more than just coping skills. You want to understand yourself, work through what's keeping you stuck, and experience meaningful change.
My Background and Approach
I'm Nathan Wert, founder of Shoreline Counseling in Mountain Brook, Alabama. I hold a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) practicing under the supervision of Adam Calvert. I'm also a National Certified Counselor (NCC), IFS Level 1 Trained through the IFS Institute, Brainspotting Trained, and trained in Integrative Somatic Parts Work through The Embody Lab. As an ASAT-C pursuing CSAT certification, I have specialized training in sex addiction and betrayal trauma. My approach combines these modalities to help clients understand their internal experiences, process trauma, and develop greater emotional regulation and self-compassion. Having competed internationally in water polo and beach volleyball for The Bahamas, I also understand the pressures athletes face firsthand. Above all, I value creating a collaborative space where teens and adults feel respected, understood, and supported in meaningful growth.
