About My Clients
I work with clients from age 6-66 years old, from all walks of life. I am especially delighted to work with queer, trans, and nonbinary clients. I see individuals, families, and couples. Many people seek out my specialized expertise in autism and learning disabilities, dissociative identity disorder, and complex trauma and PTSD, but I am also a great fit for those looking for help with anxiety, depression, and other common mental health ailments.
My Background and Approach
My approach is eclectic and tailored to the needs of each individual client. I am trained in IFS (Internal Family Systems) and often use IFS techniques in combination with traditional CBT-talk therapy. I draw heavily from decolonialist and feminist theorists such as Judith Butler, Kimberle Crenshaw, and bell hooks, in my approach to intersectional issues. My understanding of the human psyche is informed by the theorists Lacan and Jung, Deleuze and Guittari, and Jean Beaudrillard.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in civic engagement as a fundamental component of citizenry and I stay involved in poliical causes locally. When I'm not getting involved in the community, I am frequently watching independent film, playing piano, creative writing, skateboarding, or doing nature photography. I identity as nonbinary, Jewish, and disabled, and occasionally those identities show up in sessions. If you do telehealth with me, you may get to meet my cats, Chaplin and Keaton, who like to wander into sessions (don't worry, they are HIPAA-compliant).
