About My Clients
As a first-generation Latina, I’m deeply passionate about walking alongside others as they navigate life’s challenges. I started Luma Clara Therapy—which means Clear Light Therapy in my mother tongue, Portuguese—because I believe that even in our darkest moments, there’s always a path toward light and clarity. I work with clients with varying issues including spirituality, grief, codependency, addiction, and many more.
My Background and Approach
In therapy, I use a blend of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients build real self-compassion, better understand their thoughts and emotions, and develop healthier ways of coping and showing up in the world. I hold a Master’s in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Women & Gender Studies from Florida Atlantic University.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every person is born with inherent dignity and value. That means people from all backgrounds, races, ethnicities, immigration statuses, sexualities, faith backgrounds, and all the things that make you, you. As a daughter of immigrants, the immigrant community is near and dear to my heart, and especially given current events, I believe that we should be standing behind that community even more than we have in the past. And because I believe every person has value and dignity, I believe that you deserve to feel that way about yourself as well.
