About My Clients
I work with teens, adults, couples, families, and veterans who are ready to heal, strengthen their relationships, or navigate difficult seasons of life. My clients often struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, grief, addiction, chronic pain, personality disorders, relationship and attachment difficulties, family conflict, and narcissistic or emotional abuse. I especially enjoy helping clients through major life transitions, relationship changes, identity and breaking unhealthy patterns.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, couples counseling, Christian counseling, narcissistic and emotional abuse, attachment issues, personality disorders, and complex family dynamics. I use an eclectic, individualized approach, tailoring therapy to each client rather than using one method for everyone. My training includes EMDR, hypnotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), DBT, CBT, ACT, attachment-based therapy, Gottman Method couples therapy, family systems, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and somatic approaches. I also developed my own Healing From Abuse program, helping clients recognize unhealthy relationship patterns, heal from emotional and narcissistic abuse, rebuild self-trust and self-worth, develop boundaries, and create healthier relationships. My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and engaged. I combine insight with real-life tools so we don't just understand.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing is about coming back to yourself after trauma, abuse, loss, or mental health challenges. My crisis work includes experience with PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, BPD, suicide, and self-harm. I am passionate about mental health education and advocacy including presentations for churches, staff, and communities on mental health, gender and identity, suicide prevention, acceptance, and supporting those in crisis. I have also volunteered with women’s groups and Christian women’s workshops. I am developing It’s Your Life Foundation to expand access to therapy, particularly for survivors of abuse, with the goal of partnering with victim advocacy organizations. Through It’s Your Life Coaching & Hypnotherapy, I am also developing programs for healing trauma bonds and helping couples replace harmful relationship patterns with healthy, sustainable ones. My belief is simple: your past is part of your story, but it does not have to define your future.*
