About My Clients
Complex trauma can challenge our identity, relationships, and our understanding of ourselves. Physical pain and illness can reshape our relationships to ourselves, our bodies and our sense of self agency. Such circumstances can be a catalyst for change when we utilize a depth orientation and attend to the somatic (embodied) experience. My goal is to collaborate with you to create a safe holding space for this process to unfold for you.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in helping couples navigate major life transitions, trauma, and communication breakdowns. I teach you how to identify the conflict cycle you’re stuck repeating, practice new communication techniques, and strengthen your capacity for connection and collaboration. I am currently training to become certified in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). My approach to therapy is a blend of psychoanalytic, depth and somatic approaches with feminist, intersectional, and systemic frameworks.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The most critical component of therapy is developing a safe and trusting relationship between you and I, client and therapist. Without this, therapy won't work. I prioritize creating a safe and non-judgmental space so you feel comfortable showing up as your full self. My practice is inclusive & welcomes people of all sexualities, gender identities, racial and ethnic backgrounds, relationship types, and faiths. I welcome clients who are questioning or exploring their identities.
