About My Clients
You know there's more to life than this, and you're tired of waiting for things to get better. Whether you're facing trauma, anxiety, burnout, depression, or perinatal concerns, you deserve contentment—and a way forward. You're capable of finding that path forward, and you don’t have to seek it alone. In therapy, my role is to walk with you. As a licensed mental health counselor, I bring expertise related to therapy, and I recognize you as the expert on your own life and experiences.
My Background and Approach
I know how important it is to be seen clearly and respected unconditionally, having experienced my own struggles. I use practical, evidence-based treatments like EMDR and CBT to help with immediate symptom relief, and I take an intuitive approach drawing from ACT, narrative therapy, and solutions-focused therapy, always tailoring our work to your needs and goals. I use a lot of analogies, quotes, and references. Clients often describe me as very easy to talk to. My approach is strengths-based and person-centered. In your first session, we'll determine an initial treatment plan together to find what's right for your needs and values. I find creativity to be a strength for many clients, and enjoy exploring the therapeutic benefits of writing, art, music, and film.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm particularly passionate about helping people with grief, accident-related trauma, religious trauma, and infertility. As someone who has experienced these personally, it's my mission to provide a place for people to heal from these experiences. I understands that religion and spirituality have great significance in the lives of many, but not all, clients. A sense of meaning can be found in spirituality, and can also be discovered in community, values, and more. In my opinion, meaning-making through nontraditional paths is an area under-utilized possibility in Midwest culture, and I aim to provide the tools for you to work through it.
