My Background and Approach
We utilize a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to address the needs of clients. The approaches are specific to the individual and their needs. Though we address the current issues facing our clients, we find it's often helpful to get at the root of their challenges which often goes back to previous trauma and/or to their childhood. We truly believe that our thoughts impact how we feel and behave and so we examine thoughts and question the validity of them. We also explore core beliefs as they inform our thoughts, and we know that our beliefs, about ourselves, others and the world, can sometimes be harmful.
