About My Clients
I help those struggling with anxiousness, disconnection or recurrent thoughts of trauma. I create a place of safety for you to explore how you view yourself and the world. Your values and goals will guide our work together as we move toward growth, healing and connection. As a Marriage and Family Counselor, I operate from a systems-oriented lens. This means that whether I am working with an individual or family, I understand each person within the context of their relationships and environment.
My Background and Approach
Through my experience, I have witnessed the tremendous impact that meeting another person with acceptance, increased awareness and empowerment can have. A safe, secure and trusting relationship with each of my clients is a large focus of my practice. I strive to be warm, consistent, transparent and genuine with each client. As we form a counseling relationship, we will explore your core beliefs about yourself, others and how those beliefs impact your current actions. I will support you in identifying and communicating your emotions, values-based choices and self-acceptance. Throughout our work together, I will focus on your strengths and inherent resilience. I am here to empower and support you as you clarify your own identity and increase your ability to engage in fulfilling relationships. I believe that reaching out for support is a courageous choice and I look forward to providing the space for you to grow and work towards change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I became a counselor to connect with people and make a positive impact on the world. I believe that my clients are the experts on their own lives. I also believe that as humans we each make meaning from our experiences, this includes the impact that society has on our perspectives. I encourage my clients to please correct me if I have misunderstood or misinterpreted your experience or pieces of your identity. I continually work to understand lived experiences different from my own and grow in terms of personal/societal awareness and advocacy. I am excited to continue working with teens, adults and families towards enhanced relationships, authenticity and overall wellness. I am currently seeing clients through Center for Valued Living. I am pursuing my hours toward licensure and am supervised by Dr. Lisa Griffiths, PsyD (LP#3615).
