About My Clients
If feeling a sense of trust and safety has always been a challenge for you and it has taken a toll on your relationships, I'm here to help. I offer you a safe place where you can make sense of your past and look toward the future. A future where you feel empowered with an understanding of who you are and how to move forward. I help adults gain the tools and insight to heal from relational trauma and anxiety. I aim to help you uncover your inner strengths and heal long-lasting hurts.
My Background and Approach
My approach is trauma-informed, holistic, and integrative. This means we use a whole-person approach and integrate strategies that resonate with YOU and your unique circumstances. My approach is rooted in empathy and compassion. I avoid shame-based modalities and foster an environment of curiosity and compassion in our work together. A trauma-informed approach attempts to avoid retraumatization and focuses on helping you establish a felt sense of safety. We will work to increase your capacity for managing strong emotions and reducing dissociation. We will work towards helping you regulate your nervous system and learn how to navigate the impact that trauma has had on your life. I draw upon techniques and theories from different schools of thought to create a more personalized plan for you. This approach can include techniques from Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, CBT, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS informed), and mind-body interventions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe your well-being is best supported by addressing your total health—mind, body, and spirit. Our work will focus on treating you as a whole person, not just a collection of symptoms and diagnoses. Mental health is not solely confined to the mind but also how your lifestyle impacts your well-being. Our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs profoundly impact our physical well-being and vice versa. I am a firm believer in the power of self-compassion. Great growth can be achieved through cultivating a curious, non-judgmental attitude towards thoughts, difficult emotions, and parts of ourselves we may struggle to accept. I believe that we all have the capacity to change and grow in meaningful ways.
