About My Clients
You may be someone who is used to handling a lot and doing things well, yet still wonder if you’re doing enough. Maybe there’s pressure to keep achieving, and even when you succeed, it doesn’t always feel like enough. It may be hard to slow down, say no, or make choices without worrying about disappointing others. Therapy can be a space to understand these patterns, feel more confident in your choices, and make room for what matters to you.
My Background and Approach
I bring over 13 years of clinical experience working with children, teens, adults, and families across a variety of settings, including community mental health, inpatient psychiatry, and private practice. Today, my work is especially focused on supporting adults navigating the pressures and expectations that can make it difficult to slow down, feel satisfied, or prioritize their own needs. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each person. I draw from CBT, trauma-informed care, and person-centered therapy to help you better understand the patterns that may be contributing to how you feel and respond. As a 1.5-generation Korean American therapist, I also understand how culture, family expectations, and responsibility to others can shape our experiences. Together, we can explore these influences while helping you better understand your needs, feel more confident in your choices, and feel more grounded in the decisions you make.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe meaningful change often begins with understanding ourselves with curiosity rather than judgment. The ways we cope, respond to others, and move through the world often develop for a reason, shaped by our experiences, relationships, culture, and the expectations we've carried. Therapy can offer a space to slow down and better understand these patterns without judgment. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is not to tell you who you should be or what choices you should make. Instead, I hope to create a supportive space where you can explore what is working for you, what may no longer be serving you, and what you may want to approach differently.
