About My Clients
I offer warmth and compassion to enhance your ability to make your own choices and take actions that are effective toward your goals. I consider you as a whole person with your unique set of strengths, values, and resilience – and who longs to live as who you are happily.
My Background and Approach
My focus is to provide individual, couple, and family therapy, and I treat children, adults, and seniors. My therapeutic modality is integrated therapy influenced by client-centered and evidenced-based therapy, psychodynamic, mindfulness, multi-cultural, and family system perspectives. In the past, I have worked at a community-based agency treating a diverse population of adult clients for anger, anxiety, depression, complex trauma, PTSD, work and career-related issues, substance abuse, domestic violence, grief and loss, infidelity, couples’ relationship concerns, parenting coaching, and multicultural and acculturation issues. I have also worked as a school therapist at elementary, middle, and high schools to treat grades K-12 for both general and special education students, addressing issues related to social-emotional issues, low self-esteem, behavioral problems, academic anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and complex family issues.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe, "Everyone has a story to tell, and everyone deserves a chance to tell his or her story...Through storytelling, many people gain insight that leads to behavioral change, and improvements in the quality of their lives." (By Johanna Slivinske) My passion is to help people in my community who feel stuck and look for someone to untangle their lives and live the way they want.
