About My Clients

The clients I work with seek to find resolution and peace in their lives. Many of my clients have experienced trauma in some form. Oppression, complex family dynamics, religion, or just living in a difficult world with a variety of complexities.. If you need a space to let out a breath, explore freely in a space of nonjudgment, or want to dig deeper, then we may be a good pair. Clients who are open to new experiences and need a therapist they can laugh with, are always welcome in my corner!

My Background and Approach

I use evidence-based and trauma-competent approaches to therapy. I am an EMDRIA-trained EMDR therapist. Many clients have been in therapy for years and have not found the relief they are seeking through traditional forms of talk therapy. EMDR is often a helpful tool for these clients. Additionally, I am a credentialed CSAYC as well as trained in TF-CBT. I also utilize ERP for clients with OCD. My approach to therapy is integrative. I am person-centered and attachment-focused and use this to inform the deeper work I do with EMDR. I enjoy using DBT to build skills with all my clients, so they are equipped to handle life's stressors once they have completed their treatment goals. I use a harm reduction approach to substance use and believe this is life-saving work. My approach to clients is meeting them where they are at and finding ways to support their goals in a strength-based manner. All people struggle and deserve individualized care to find resolution to these struggles.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe quality healthcare and mental health care are human rights. I believe services should be accessible to all clients regardless of their identities and means. Mental health is essential to healing our societies and finding ways to celebrate diversity and community. I believe therapists should be involved in social movements and making changes, alongside the healing work we do. This is why I often go to protests, engage in mutual aid work, and spend time educating others whenever I can. Clients must walk out of my office back into the harsh realities of the world around us. If we are not also engaging in local spaces to create change, we are not stopping the cycles that cause harm and trauma in the first place. This is essential to the work I do. I believe that everyone regardless of weight, gender, sexuality, class status, disability status, race, ethnicity, or whether they use substances deserves respect, love, and care.
