About Our Clients
If you have been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like you have lost the thread of yourself — you are not alone. This diminishing time in your life is trying to show you a new way to be and become. Whether you are moving through loss, a major transition, or a season of life that is asking more of you than you expected, there is value in slowing down and listening carefully to what is underneath. We offer that kind of space.
Our Background and Approach
Heart Marrow Counseling was founded on the belief that healing happens in relationship — with oneself, with others, and with community. We bring together psychotherapy, somatic work, transpersonal healing, and creative arts under one roof, grounded in an anti-racist, inclusive philosophy that values depth over speed and multiple ways of knowing. Our clinical work is rooted in both transpersonal and depth psychology. Depth psychology is a tradition that understands the psyche as having its own intelligence — that what troubles us is often also trying to tell us something. We don't approach symptoms as problems to be eliminated, but as meaningful expressions asking to be understood in the context of a person's history, relationships, and the world they live in. Somatic and transpersonal work weaves together body awareness and ritual, honoring the many ways humans come to know themselves and find their way back to wholeness.
Our Personal Beliefs and Interests
We believe healing happens in relationship — and that the conditions for healing are shaped by the world we live in. Our values are grounded in the antidotes to white supremacy culture as articulated by Jones and Okun — appreciation, shared power, multiple ways of knowing, and process alongside outcome. We believe psychological and somatic work are part of the impetus for change in our times. People with open hearts and the tools to work with difficult inner states are able to stay in relationship with others in ways that have real potential for healing — for themselves and for the communities they are part of. We are trying to be a steady, community-rooted presence in Foster-Powell. Present, grounded, genuinely connected. We hope this kind of change is felt by all living beings on our planet — particularly those with the power to harm, in large and small ways.
