About My Clients
I want to create a safe space for my clients to be authentically themselves. I work with clients who struggle with anxiety, religious/spiritual trauma, ADHD symptoms, and daily life stressors. I am a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and an advocate for basic human rights. I want my clients to know they are worth the effort it takes to work on themselves. I walk beside my clients as they learn to navigate this weird world we find ourselves in. Everyone deserves help and support.
My Background and Approach
I have a master's degree in mental health counseling and am working towards full licensure. I help my clients learn more about themselves and their thoughts and emotions through mindfulness and body-based interventions. I work with my clients to help them learn what their emotions are trying to tell them, and how to have a healthy relationship with them. I hope to give my clients the skills they need to cope with negative thinking patterns using modalities like CBT and ACT and intense emotions through mindfulness practices and meditation. The goal is not to get rid of thoughts and emotions, but to learn how to develop a relationship with them. I have been in the mental health field for roughly 3 years working in residential, IOP, and private practice settings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have been on a journey for a few years now developing my personal beliefs and values. I am learning about (and loving) Buddhism and paganism, and learning how they fit in my life. I am pro choice, gender affirming, and am part of the LGBTQIA+ community. I value authenticity and believe everyone is deserving of living a life that is authentic to them.
