About My Clients
I am interested in working with queer, genderqueer, or neurodivergent people, people with spiritual or activist inclinations, and individuals of Asian descent. Significant topics of interest for me include intergenerational trauma, QTPOC intersectionality, and leveraging various forms of privilege towards equity for all.
My Background and Approach
Growing up queer in China, I witnessed the severe lack of mental health support and insidious impacts of stigma, familial shame, insufficient mental health support, and incompetent care even where it does exist. After too many experiences of helplessness, I decided I would always be equipped with the tools for healing in order to give back to the vibrant community that has given me so much and made me who I am. In my own reading, I’ve found a deep resonance with liberation and feminist psychology. I believe in client-first methods of healing that transcend pathologizing labels and instead center the will of the client. We are all constant works in progress. My hope is that together we might grow our self understanding and find ways to lean into the power of our inherent connectedness with one another.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a bilingual and bicultural child of ex-US-immigrants, I know that we are constantly translating ourselves to the world around us, across languages, cultures, values, or differences of the mind. Often, we might feel forced to justify who we are. We shouldn’t always have to. In the therapy room, I offer you a safe space where you heal on your own terms.
