Maybe you are haunted by traumas that you can't seem to shake off, or the scars from a difficult childhood have left you feeling broken. Perhaps anxiety has you in its grip, turning even the simplest tasks into overwhelming challenges. My Background and Approach
I believe our world is seen and lived through the lens of our prior experiences. You may be feeling the effects of a single traumatic incident, or struggling with the weight of years of hurtful events. When we experience suffering, we can feel like it becomes part of our identity which then affects every area of our lives. We don’t have to live this way, healing is possible. I work collaboratively with each client in addressing their specific needs and mapping out the best steps for their journey. I use research-based techniques along with creative and integrative thinking to offer therapy tailored to the uniqueness of each client. I am integrative and experiential in my approach to therapy utilizing Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), techniques from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and expressive arts among my tools. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I worked as a Certified Public Accountant for 15 years prior to becoming a stay-at-home Mom of twins. During this time away from professional life, I was an active volunteer with my church and children’s school and was a substitute teacher. I have always had a passion for serving others so when I was ready to return to work outside the home, I decided to make a career change that would allow me to help people on a more personal level. With the support of my family, I returned to school and began to pursue a career in the counseling field. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling completing my graduate level internship at a residential inpatient treatment facility where I earned the credential of LCDC.
