About My Clients
I work best with adults who are ready to explore meaningful change, even if they're feeling overwhelmed or unsure of where to start. Many of my clients struggle with chronic insomnia, relationship issues, stress-related health issues, or the lingering effects of trauma. They may feel stuck in cycles of overthinking or emotional disconnection. My ideal client is curious, open to reflection, and willing to try evidence-based strategies, even when it feels challenging.
My Background and Approach
I’m a board-certified clinical health psychologist with a PsyD in psychology and over 20 years of experience helping individuals improve their well-being through evidence-based, compassionate care. My training has focused on the intersection of mental and physical health, with specializations in behavioral sleep medicine, trauma-informed care, and stress-related conditions. My approach is collaborative, warm, and grounded in science. I integrate cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies to support meaningful, lasting change. Whether we’re working on sleep, stress, trauma, or emotional resilience, I tailor therapy to fit your needs—not the other way around. I believe therapy should feel both supportive and effective—offering you space to reflect, tools to move forward, and a deeper connection to what matters most.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I grew up and attended college in the Midwest, but my heart is in Maine where my family spent summers during my childhood. My background as a former critical care nurse has cultivated a deep passion for helping others navigate the emotional challenges that come with illness or injury. Colleagues and clients often describe me as empathic and warm; however, I also believe in being direct when it's important for clarity and understanding. I approach my work with seriousness and dedication, while also valuing the importance of personal time. In my free moments, I enjoy urban and nature walks with my dog, participating in exercise classes, or simply unwinding with friends and family. Connecting with others is a fundamental part of my life, and I feel honored to be both a witness to their struggles and a cheerleader for their successes.
