About My Clients
My professional concentration centers on exploring the interconnection between substance use and disordered eating, as these struggles often go hand-in-hand. While these experiences intertwine, there's a gap in care when someone seeks support. I aim to bridge that gap. Additionally, my expertise extends to guiding individuals through experiences with sex, sexuality and intimacy, body image and body dysmorphia, and relationship dynamics. I hope to guide you to heal in a way that feels good to you
My Background and Approach
In my therapeutic approach, I lean heavily on the psychodynamic framework, emphasizing the integration of harm reduction strategies and techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am a firm believer in Health at Every Size (HAES). I also have experience in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We cannot ignore the systems that are in place which add barriers to healing. Without recognizing the impact of the systemic impact on you, there can't be a deeper understanding of how you are responding. I strongly believe in harm reduction for substance use and disordered eating, and the idea that recovery can be self-defined. Whether it's abstinence, 12-step, sober-curious, reducing your use, etc. I believe that each client knows what is best for them, and I'm here to help walk with you in this journey.
