About My Clients
My clients are typically individuals managing high sensitivity, stress and overwhelm, parents of young children who need behavioral and emotional support, children and teens who are struggling with relationships and environmental expectations, and families healing from trauma.
My Background and Approach
I have training in Sensory Processing Sensitivity/The Highly Sensitive Person, Child-Parent Psychotherapy to address early childhood trauma, as well as CBT, Art Therapy, and Play Therapy. I believe it is important to feel connected to and supported by your therapist. So this is my first goal. We work together on figuring out what is important to you, and how we can achieve it. I work with individuals of all ages, and enjoy individual work, family work, and working with parent-child dyads (Filial Therapy and Child-Parent Psychotherapy). I am LGBTQIA+-friendly. I utilize a relaxed approach in which I focus on collaborative problem-solving. In the summer and fall months I offer walk and talk therapy for adult clients in select trails and parks in the Weymouth area. Please see my website for more information.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy, and everyone has the ability within themselves to make positive change. Life can make this feel impossible at times, and that is the beauty of therapy: having someone else on your team to help you figure it out. I am a Highly Sensitive Person. Throughout my entire life I have experienced many different situations which made me feel misunderstood and confused about my sensitivity and why I wasn't like other people. In addition, I have had to manage lifelong anxiety symptoms, but with the help of my doctors, my therapeutic training, and my own therapist have been able to reach a point of being able to anticipate and cope with symptoms much more effectively. I am a former member of the evangelical Christian Church and now identify as agnostic/atheist. I find much comfort and wisdom in Buddhist teachings, and I believe that all religions/faiths/spiritualities have elements of truth, but more importantly give people hope.
