About My Clients
I work with people facing challenges with interpersonal relationships, work-life balance, and issues of identity and a shifting sense of self. It's healthy to seek therapy throughout life transitions, periods of stagnation, and moments when life presents internal and external blocks. I especially enjoy working with people wanting to explore issues of cultural diversity (i.e. race, ethnicity, sexual orientation ) and welcome the integration of one's faith or questions of faith into psychotherapy.
My Background and Approach
Psychotherapy can help find a genuine, integrated way of living and relating to others. I work from a relational and insight oriented approach to help recognize patterns, identify blind spots, and enhance awareness of unconscious habits and choices that impact one's life and functioning. I have specialized training in and expertise with a variety of concerns including: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (i.e. sexual trauma, childhood abuse, racial trauma), anxiety disorders, mood disorders, cultural/racial identity and shame. I utilize evidence-based approaches to treat symptoms associated with anxiety and PTSD. I employ an Emotionally Focused conceptualization to help move couples from distress to trust and closeness. Lastly I use a modern analytic framework to run my interpersonal process groups.
