About My Clients
Let's face it, you haven't felt like yourself for a while. You've tried figuring it out on your own. You've tried thinking positively and just pushing through, but things aren't changing and your anxiety and/or depression are only getting worse. Your quality of life is suffering and so are your relationships. Something's gotta change! But what? How? You want to feel at peace and in control of your emotions, but you wonder if that's even possible. Trauma has taken so much from you.
My Background and Approach
I'm a marriage and family therapist specializing in trauma & attachment. My clients are looking to be understood and not judged, seen and not pathologized. I help clients overcome the traumatic experiences and negative thoughts that have hijacked their lives. I have a gentle, strengths-based, culturally competent approach, and a love for empowering clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a person who occupies overlapping minoritized identities (race, gender, religion), I've made it a personal mission to decolonize my thinking. That must include decolonizing my approach to therapy as well. This means I value connection and validation over instructing and diagnosing. That means I define therapy as a co-created experience between two equals, rather than a hierarchical exchange between "expert" and "patient." You are the expert on your life. Your beliefs and experiences matter.
