About My Clients
I work with adults, seniors, and teens who are experiencing anxiety, depression, overwhelm, loneliness, anger, and paralysis about the state of the world and their place within it. They often describe a desire to live as their more authentic selves; make a bigger impact on positive change; have deeper and more meaningful relationships; transform financial struggles into new business ideas; and leave the world better than they entered it.
My Background and Approach
My approach is centered in feminist and existential therapy to help people discover why they are here now; how to translate their pain, experiences, and symptoms into wisdom and skills; and pursue a life of meaning and purpose. I incorporate multiple therapy modalities to customize therapy to each unique individual, including elements of CBT, ACT, somatic therapy, and trauma healing. Additionally, as a survivor of breast cancer and meningitis, I also work with those who have chronic and terminal diagnoses, cancer, fear of death, and are facing end of life decisions. You are here for a reason. It is normal to occasionally have symptoms that get in the way of our ability to function, connect with others, live the life we want, and feel aligned with purpose and energy. Let's work together to heal the origin of your wounds, translate them into your power, and make an impact no matter how much time is left in your life journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My adorable snowshoe siamese cat, Moose, may make a brief appearance during our session because he enjoys meeting new people and showing unconditional love. Did you know that multiple studies indicate that cat purrs occur in the frequency of 25-150 Hz, which stimulates bone and muscle growth and repair as well as anxiety reduction? They truly are healers in the emotional and physical sense.
