About My Clients
I work to create a safe, healing environment for individuals of diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, religion, and body sizes. I specialize in helping adolescents and adults navigate challenges, including life transitions, self-esteem, racial identity, self-exploration, and relational issues. My areas of focus are depression, anxiety, and trauma.
My Background and Approach
I earned a dual Master’s degree from Columbia University in Psychological Counseling and Mental Health Counseling with special concentrations in multicultural counseling, LGBT identity, and women’s issues. In my work, I utilize a dynamic, client-centered approach to counseling, integrating components of attachment therapy, feminist therapy, and existential psychology. In this fast-paced world, therapy allows for a moment to slow down, gain a better understand, and cultivate the confidence to become the most authentic version of yourself. My approach to counseling is very personable and collaborative. You are the expert of your own life, and I am here to work with you. I do so by creating an accepting environment where you feel understood, seen, and listened to. Although you cannot change your history, trauma does not have to define you. Healing through therapy allows for growth and compassion at your own pace.
