About My Clients
My clients are adults navigating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, burnout, chronic stress, relationship challenges, cultural stressors, life transitions, and patterns of high-functioning overachievement, overfunctioning, and shutdown. Many appear “high functioning” yet feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected internally. They often seek relief from persistent stress responses, greater emotional balance, and a deeper understanding of how past experiences shape present patterns.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia & National Certified Counselor with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I specialize in trauma, PTSD, anxiety, burnout, chronic stress, relationship challenges, and nervous system dysregulation. My clinical background includes training in trauma-informed and integrative care, somatic approaches, relational modalities, EMDR, CBT, and mindfulness-based interventions. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in helping clients understand how past experiences shape present emotional and physiological responses. I support clients in recognizing patterns such as overfunctioning, shutdown, and high-functioning anxiety, while building practical tools for nervous system regulation, emotional stability, and self-awareness. Therapy with me is both insight-oriented and skills-based. Together, we work to reduce distress, strengthen resilience, create more balance, clarity, & sustainable change in daily life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing happens when people feel safe enough to understand themselves; both mind and body. Many symptoms such as anxiety, shutdown, burnout, and overfunctioning are adaptive responses shaped by past experiences, relationships, and environments, not signs of being broken. Change becomes possible when these patterns are met with curiosity rather than shame. In therapy, I support clients in noticing how the nervous system responds to stress, increasing awareness of emotional and physiological patterns, and building capacity for regulation and resilience. I believe clients already carry strengths that have helped them survive. Therapy is a space to slow down, understand these patterns more deeply, and develop practical tools that support balance, clarity, and sustainable change over time.
