Women are born nurturers, caring for others, usually at their own expense. One day, you wake up and ask yourself, "Is this all there is?" Let's talk about how you can rediscover your own passions and those things that used to make you feel on top of the world, before the world came crashing down on you. There IS a better way. As long as you have breath in your body, there's still hope for finding meaning and purpose, and creating the life you were meant to live.

The one constant in life is change. Wouldn't you like to know when some of them were coming, or at least be better prepared for them? Instead of feeling like a sitting duck, let's review some of the things that have happened in your life, looking for patterns. Then we can develop a plan to either head the next ones off at the pass or see how well they're serving you. If you don't like being a passenger in your life, let's figure out how to get you into the drivers seat.

Since no two people are perfect, it's unrealistic to expect our relationships will go smoothly, and yet that's exactly what we do. We stop communicating; we expect people to become mind readers; we take offense too easily; or we throw up our hands and give up at the first signs of trouble. That's mature! Relationships take a LOT of time, effort, patience, and TLC. One person can't possibly do all the work; however, when both work together, something magnificent happens. Let's talk.

Married 36 years, a major component of my work with couples involves my being a certified SYMBIS facilitator. I also use CoupleTalk by Drs. Les and Leslie Parrot to help couples learn to listen to their partner’s “heart” and hear what’s being said before simply responding. Listening has become such a lost art, we must practice it if we want our communications and relationships to improve. Friendship is the key to any love relationship. I’m trained in Gottman Level 1 couples woras well.

The Bible tells us that “as a man thinks in his heart, so he is.” If we want to achieve wholeness and wellness, we must look at the way we see an issue before we can change it. I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help people understand how their perspective impacts the way they behave. Many times we think that we looking at the truth, but if the image is distorted, our reactions will be inappropriate for the circumstances.

I am a certified Advanced Christian Life Coach working towards my Master certification with a special focus on women’s issues, relationships, grief, and communication issues.

From my perspective, Jesus was a life coach. He saw what each of the disciples was capable of becoming and called them into being. Sometimes it takes someone else to help us see the possibilities in our lives that we are blind to because of life's trials and circumstances.
