About My Clients
I feel honored to bear witness as individuals bravely tell their stories and reclaim their personal power. Most of us want to forget or bury the painful memories, and yet by sharing these stories one can open the door to healing. I work with adults and adolescents. I have a degree in Art Therapy and am trained in EMDR.
My Background and Approach
I approach counseling in a supportive environment, based on a warm and dynamic relationship, to facilitate awareness, insight, and compassion. I use an eclectic approach, drawing from trauma-informed, narrative, and strengths-based theories to empower each person to make positive choices and find balance, resolution, and new and preferred ways to experience life. I have a Master’s degree in Art Therapy and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Oregon and a Board Certified and Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC) through the ATCB.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My approach is based on my belief that personal challenges can inspire growth and deeper healing when the experiences are processed in meaningful ways. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and am actively involved in social justice. In addition to being a counselor, I am a sculptural artist with a love for clay and little bits found here and there. I also enjoy distance running, working on my wife’s farm, traveling, eating fabulous food, riding motorcycles, and spending time with my family.
