About My Clients

My clients are adult individuals (ages 18+) and relationships. Most of my clients identify as LGBTQIA+, and many hold other marginalized identities. I enjoy working with folks seeking to restore their relationships to themselves, their bodies, and their identities, and to regain self-trust. I enjoy working with couples who are navigating conflict and relationship transitions. My clients are creative, adaptive people who are often struggling with the impacts of systemic oppression and trauma.

My Background and Approach

My approach to therapy is collaborative, holistic, and trauma informed. I integrate a variety of tools and techniques, drawing primarily from internal family systems (IFS), Polyvagal theory, attachment theory, and emotionally focused couples therapy (EFT). As a systemic therapist I aim to be mindful and curious about the ways in which my clients are impacted by their relational and sociocultural contexts, including family of origin, culture, and and experiences of oppression. I believe that the most powerful tool for change in therapy is the therapeutic relationship, and will work with you to build a relationship based on trust, safety, and authenticity.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Some of my personal beliefs are: people are experts on their own experience; humans are adaptive and capable of change in surprising ways at any time; individual suffering is often better understood from a systemic context; psychotherapy is just one path towards healing, and may not be right for everyone; and solidarity is more impactful than allyship. Outside of therapy, my interests include include reading, writing, fiber arts, photography, and gardening. When I am not working, I am usually taking a walk, trying to figure out what to eat for dinner, or spending time at home with my wife, our baby, and our dog.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
