About My Clients
My clients often come with a wide range of problems and are looking for coping skills on how to approach daily life. I primarily address issues such as depression/anxiety, grief/bereavement, chronic health struggles, complex family dynamics and life transitions. If any of these things (or maybe a combination of them all) sound like you, I look forward to working with you!
My Background and Approach
Something in your life has led you to reach out for support and I'd like to help! Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker in NC with a master's degree in Social work from North Carolina State University. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, PTSD, cancer and other terminal diagnosis, grief/loss and major life changes/adjusting to new normals. My counseling style is warm, empathetic, integrative, and person-centered. I believe that a therapeutic relationship should be a collaborative one in which you and I work together to discover creative strategies, solutions and, even humorous insights to help you reach your goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I view my role as your therapist to be there to guide you, encourage you, maybe even challenge you if I feel you are unknowingly allowing obstacles to stand in your way. I draw on multiple treatment modalities to guide clients in identifying strengths. This will always be a space of encouragement, acceptance, and grace as we tackle unhealthy learned behaviors and replace them with proper coping skills for all of life's challenges. I am someone who believes strongly in the power of support and finding a community of people who are willing to be your cheerleaders. In this space there is no discrimination and an open acceptance for all races, cultural beliefs, gender and sexual identities, and religions.
