About My Clients
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma? Perhaps all of the above? Dealing with a difficult life transition? Wanting to have a better relationship with your partner? Or maybe you desire some boundaries within your family? All of these things can be incredibly stressful to handle and I am here to help. No shame. No judgement. Whatever you're coming in with, you are welcome here. I look forward to teaching you tools to improve yourself and feel more connected.
My Background and Approach
My practice primarily focuses on anxiety and depression, trauma, and couples and family relationships. I greatly value being client-centered and gently direct. I believe we each have the ability to change and re-write our stories in the way that best fits us. We'll work collaboratively to create and address goals you wish to work on. If you don't have specific goals in mind that is okay! I want you to feel safe to express yourself with me. In the first few sessions it's more of a get to know each other phase and assessing what symptoms and/or concerns you have. We'll go over the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how to address them. I also like to go over what outside influences (whether they be positive, negative, or neutral) have impact upon our lives. We'll work together to build off of skills you already possess and gain new ones to help reduce symptoms and further develop insight into yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as a bit of a nerd--I grew up on fantasy stories like "Lord of the Rings". Please feel free to talk about your favorite shows, books, games, etc. I believe the things we value, spend time and energy with can be used to help improve our mental health. Also, you may catch a glimpse of my two pets. Animals, I believe, are great supports and provide immense comfort when we are feeling low. With those small tidbits of myself said, I value being your full genuine self and want the therapy space to be one of the safest spots for you to be yourself. I do not discriminate--it has no business in my practice.
