About My Clients
I work with clients ages 10+ who tend to find me when aren’t going the way they want them to: Maybe their relationship isn’t bringing them the joy it used to, or maybe it’s driving them downright nuts. Maybe they aren’t speaking to their kids, or maybe they are the kid or teen that just can’t seem to get along with their parents or the people around them. Maybe things have gotten so bad that they've contemplated hurting themselves or suicide. Perhaps they're grieving a loss, a person, or a job.
My Background and Approach
When you’re hurting and in pain, it can be very hard to seek therapy. I know: I struggled to do it even when I knew I needed help, and seeking therapy changed my life in countless, unimaginable ways. I am a daughter, sister, immigrant, wife, mom, and former teacher and school counselor who has worked with hundreds of people over the last decade to help them live more satisfying, joy-filled lives. I use cognitive, dialectical, mindfulness, movement, and trauma-informed therapies like EMDR to uncover what’s really going on with clients. I want my clients to leave sessions feeling a little lighter, understanding hidden parts of themselves to change behaviors that aren’t working anymore. I want you to rediscover the really magical parts of life: ease, joy, love, fun, belonging, and connection. My clients tell me I am easy to talk to, warm, engaging, and helpful. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is not only capable of healing, but deserves it. My childhood and adolescence were rocky, and it took me a long time to untangle the damage that was caused as result of some of the things I experienced during my earlier years. I am so grateful to the many people who supported and loved me along the way, and want to be that support person for those who have experienced hurt at various points in their lives. I believe that hurt people hurt people AND that healed people heal people. No one is ever healed 100%; we grow into more evolved, sturdy, and confident versions of ourselves once we understand how our experiences have impacted us and learned tools to overcome them.
