Sometimes it's difficult for someone who has experienced trauma to safely connect to their emotions. Brainspotting uses focused mindfulness and somatic experiencing to help reach the sub-cortex of the brain where emotions related to trauma live, so that they can be processed and released. It is a tremendous tool to help improve functioning.
The past is important in learning how we got to the present. You can use that information to fix what is happening in the here and now, and to find peace by resolving unfinished business.
