About My Clients
I support individuals learning to re-parent themselves and repair wounds of complex trauma. I have specialized experience in recovery from emotional neglect or narcissistic abuse, whether from family of origin or a romantic relationship. I also work with couples and families, with an emphasis on those in non-traditional spaces. This includes members of the LGBTQ community, as well as blended families/step-parents looking to create a family system that functions in the healthiest way possible.
My Background and Approach
Since receiving my Master's in Depth Psychology, I have received additional training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting, Non-Violent Communication, and Gender-Affirming Mental Health Care. I am also a provider of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy. I bring a Somatic lens to my work, so that you can begin to make your body a friend and ally in healing. I have lived experience in recovery from narcissistic abuse, and have done a significant amount of study and training in order to support others on this journey. The work typically involves: practicing attunement to your own needs while developing healthy boundaries with others, learning to soothe your nervous system, and rediscovering your core self. No matter what concerns bring you to therapy, I will welcome all parts of you with warmth and gentle curiosity.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all have the capacity to heal, and that humans have the fundamental right to conditions that allow for healing and growth. I believe in free, universal health care including mental health care. I will continue to fight for a system that puts human health above profit. Until this is achieved, I maintain a number of therapy slots for MediCal or low-fee clients. I'm a bisexual woman helping to raise my trans stepson. LGBTQ folx safety and civil rights are of utmost importance to me. I support the Black Lives Matter movement, and am committed to the ongoing process of becoming a better ally. I believe healing is important, not just because everyone deserves a chance to recover from suffering, but also because when one person heals it has a ripple effect. That person then becomes a better neighbor, friend, parent, or human being. Breaking cycles of inter-generational trauma is one of the most important things we can do, and I'm honored to play a part in this.
