About My Clients
Individuals who are open to being vulnerable and committed to taking steps toward change may benefit from seeing Monina. She views her primary role as a therapist as one who shows up, listens, and empowers. Through the use of person-centered, systemic modalities (i.e. narrative, feminist), she hopes to collaborate with her clients in fostering improved relationships with their self and others.
My Background and Approach
Monina Reyes (She/Her) MS, EdS, LPCC, has a dual degree (Master's of Science & Education Specialist) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University and a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida. Monina is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in Colorado. When you enter a session with Monina, she sees you as a whole person before anything else. She strives to foster an environment in which all aspects of your identity are seen, welcome, and celebrated. Through the integration of a social justice framework, she hopes to place you and your lived experiences at the center of the therapeutic process. HerI a therapeutic approach draws from narrative, systems-based, and attachment theories mixed with realness and humor; exploring difficult issues doesn’t have to be scary!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Monina is passionate about intersectionality, community, and equity; she aims to be mindful of ways in which she can continue learning about how to best serve the individuals she sees. Some values that are fundamental to Monina's everyday life as a human being and clinician include mental health of the traditionally marginalized (i.e. BIPOC persons, LGBTQIA+ community, those who are disabled, immigrants, etc.), equitable access to healthcare, and dismantling systems of power and privilege.
