About My Clients
Sometimes we go through periods in our lives where life feels unfair, and we get stuck in that downward spiral just waiting for the next thing to go wrong. These stressful periods in our lives cause changes in our mood and behavior. This may look like not being able to focus or complete tasks, becoming easily irritable or angry, feeling overwhelmed, worrying about even worse things happening. My Background and Approach
This is a team effort, we work together to figure out what you want to get out of therapy. I recognize that taking the first step in starting therapy can be difficult and requires some vulnerability. We pace our sessions so that they will not feel overwhelming. For these reasons, it is important to establish a good relationship. I feel that therapy is the perfect place to talk about the "hard stuff" you have been going through. This is the ideal environment to focus solely on You. We will work on finding good coping skills to help you manage difficult feelings and/or symptoms along the way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe that NO ONE is perfect. We all have things we struggle with and we all have some amazing qualities that make each one of us unique. Our mental health issues can be overwhelming due to many different reasons, but I believe that through therapy we can take back the power over our emotions and symptoms. It is ok and normal to feel sad, depressed, anxious...(insert emotion here)...we are human and our emotions mean something. I'm a mother of 3 boys, one of which has some significant medical issues (Special Needs Mama Here!). I've experienced the emotional rollercoaster our traumas and other life stressors put us through. These experiences have taught me that "Strength" sometimes means just putting our coping skills to work and moving forward keeping one foot in front of the other. I'm here to help you find your strength and regain control of your life to find hope, healing and peace. I also believe that Love is Love and no one is illegal.
