About My Clients
Much of my experience is with treating anxious individuals who struggle with worry, self-doubt, and "analysis paralysis". I can help you recognize how anxiety is interfering with your daily life, relationships, & overall well-being by challenging unhelpful beliefs and choosing a new way. I am especially passionate about working with the highly sensitive person and helping couples recognize and change the "stuck points" in their communication patterns that block connection & closeness.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor working primarily with teens, adults, couples, and families. I received my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have worked in a variety of settings including home, school, community and outpatient environments. I have experience supporting individuals with a wide range of mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, PTSD / trauma, domestic violence, addiction/substance use disorders, codependency, adjustment disorders, marital and family discord, issues of gender identity and more. I have an eclectic, holistic, and strengths-based approach to therapy and incorporate techniques from motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), reality therapy, ecosystemic family therapy (ESFT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), DBT, trauma-focused CBT, attachment-based work, mindfulness/meditation & more. My passion is helping you gain insight and tools that foster personal growth and relief from your symptoms.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I particularly value the mind-body-spirit connection and strive to work alongside my clients to create a holistic and personal treatment plan that focuses on self-awareness and promotes growth. I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy, and that personal growth is an ongoing and ever-changing process.
