Accepting Clients

Hey there! My name is Molly, and I am a LMFT in Indiana and Illinois. I am so glad you are taking this first step to feeling more like you!

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Evansville, IN

About My Clients

Whether my clients have been in therapy for a long time, or it's their first time trying it out, they tend to have some similarities. Many folks in my office are overwhelmed with navigating the complexities of sexual trauma, exhausted from being the "helper" to so many, and/or finding the benefit in exploring their identity without judgement. They often feel their emotions have taken control through dysregulation, overwhelm, or numbing out. I can help you take your power back!

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, which means that my graduate coursework was rooted in relational frameworks, and I hold a systemic view in treatment. I don't simply look at symptoms and diagnoses, I care about how your upbringing, relationships, past experiences, community connections, cultural factors, and identity markers all play into who you are and how you react to things. I currently see adult individuals and couples through a queer-affirming and trauma-informed lens. I specialize in helping folks working through sexual trauma, exploring queer identities, needing queer relational help, and therapy for therapists. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of our work, and I pull from evidence-based practices such as Emotionally-Focused Individual and Couple's Therapy, Gottman Method Couple's Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I also utilize therapeutic art techniques when clients are interested.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I fully believe that sharing emotional experiences with others is how we grow as humans. Interestingly enough, I am also someone that struggles with vulnerability. I have been in my own personal therapy for years, and value lifelong emotional growth. Because I understand client's anxieties around vulnerability so well, I work hard to take things at the client's pace. In our sessions you may laugh, cry, and feel everything in between. All parts of you are welcome. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I believe queer folks deserve an encouraging environment to process life and a therapist that validates the complexities of their day to day existence. Finally, I believe that community and queer joy are what makes the world go around. My sessions are a great place to explore how you can find connections that improve your toughest days, and leave feeling more confident in your sense of self.
