I have attended trauma informed trainings, supervision and consultation throughout my career focused on trauma oriented therapy.

My job is not to fix you (because you're not broken), but to work with you to address the underlying patterns and fear. During our sessions, we may explore how unhealthy patterns and limiting self-beliefs play a role in where you are struggling. We often tell constant and sometimes unconscious story's to ourselves about our worth and abilities. By bringing these stories into our awareness, we increase our ability to question the stories in order to heal and grow.

I engage in regular supervision from a trauma-specialized supervisor to ensure that the people I support are getting the best care possible. I believe the body, thoughts and emotions are all important to attend to when healing from trauma.

I hold a certificate in Brennan Healing Science. BHS is a specialized holistic healing modality developed by Dr. Barbara Brennan. This highly skilled modality combines energy with psychological processes. Practitioners using the modality have been through four years of rigorous training in the study of the human energy field, transpersonal psychology and spirituality. I integrate this training into my psychotherapy when appropriate.

My work is has a large psychodynamic influence. This means it is depth work focused on supporting you to increase awareness of patterns or behaviors that may have been needed in the past but now are holding you back. By bringing what is often unconscious into awareness, you are able to move toward the experience you want to create with much greater self-acceptance and ease.

For many people, past hurtful experiences or trauma continue to impact their ability to fully step in and create what they want in life. Feeling held back in this way is deeply painful. I help clients to heal from past traumas and hurtful experiences so that they can transform shame, increase feelings of self-worth, develop authentic relationships (both with themselves and others) and create meaning and joy in their life.
