About My Clients
Each person is unique, and I tailor every session in a way that honors the individual’s lived experiences. My passion is working with teens and adults as they navigate life transitions, mood challenges, self-esteem issues, and relationship difficulties. My role in the therapeutic process is supporting clients as they build upon their own personal narrative of their lives to help them have a deeper understanding of their past, present, and future.
My Background and Approach
I recently completed my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, and I currently work as a PMHC at a private practice. Prior to working here, I worked in an in-patent setting and have experience counseling both individuals, couples, and groups. I’ve worked with people of all ages and adapt treatment in a way that is best suited for you! I am also a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) and have experience working with children. I believe that through play, children can work through challenging emotions, decrease behavioral concerns, and develop their sense of self. My holistic approach combines Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Feminist Therapy techniques. I emphasize treating the whole person and use this evidence-based approach to collaboratively work with you to meet your therapeutic needs. I focus on using DBT skills such as, mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
