About My Clients

I specialize in working with children, adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, life transitions, and grief and loss. I also work with parents and caregivers wanting to work on their relationship with their child, learn how to support their child while reducing the impact of anxiety on their lives or navigate the school system on their behalf.

My Background and Approach

My experience working with children, adolescents and families in schools as well as my experience raising three boys gives me a deep, practical understanding of child development, school systems and parenting struggles, as well as a lot of empathy for the challenges of being a kid and being a parent. We bring all of who we are into our parenting: our histories, values, hopes, fears, and lived experiences. In therapy, I strive to offer a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where parents and caregivers can reflect, grow, and feel less alone as they navigate this journey as well as skills and strategies to use daily. I can help children and teens with tools to understand and regulate their emotions, daily practices that improve their mental health and strategies to reduce anxiety. My approach is collaborative, individualized, integrative, practical and informed by evidence based practices.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

We all have stories about what we’ve experienced, who we are in the world, who we are to others in our lives, and who we want to be. Understanding how our stories shape us opens the possibility of writing new ones. I believe that healing and growth happen through connection, curiosity, and trust—and that when people feel truly seen and supported, meaningful change becomes possible. I am firm believer in social justice and the value of community and strive to live according to those values. I am an active volunteer in community organization that support individuals and families. I spend my free time spending time outdoors, enjoying my family and community of friends, reading and trying out new recipes. I am am quickly becoming a devout supporter of the Portland Fire.
