About My Clients
I see adults who feel stuck and misunderstood. My areas of interest are chronic pain, anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, eating disorders, rehabilitation psychology, adjustment to disability and illness, and psychological evaluations.
My Background and Approach
I've worked in both inpatient hospital and outpatient settings. I try as hard as possible to meet clients where they are at and develop manageable plans to help them get unstuck and move toward their life goals. I utilize several approaches in my work with clients including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, and Behavioral Activation, Cognitive Processing Therapy. I have previous work experience as a licensed massage therapist where I started to notice how emotional problems manifest themselves physically. I've learned somatic and cognitive behavioral techniques to address the symptoms of chronic pain, PTSD, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. I provide cognitive testing (intelligence, memory, executive functioning, etc). I also provide bariatric assessments for clients who are preparing for bariatric (weight loss) surgery.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I volunteer at a holistic healthcare center and like to take a strength-based, biopsychosocial spiritual approach toward my work with clients. All of us have a unique purpose on earth and helping clients tap into their potential is a joy for me!
